The ReMake Value Retention Centre (RVRC) is pioneering a cross-sector, systems-level approach to circularity in high-integrity sectors such as transport and energy.
We’re tackling the urgent challenge of maximising product life, to drive resilience, growth and the UK's green economy.
The ReMake Value Retention Centre (RVRC) is a Green Economy Centre funded by UKRI. We're led by the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) and University of Strathclyde, in partnership with the University of Exeter and the University of Sheffield. Our aims are to create new economic value, reduce waste and emissions, build material resilience across nationally important sectors, and accelerate the transition to net zero while delivering substantial economic impact for the UK.

We're extending the life of high-value assets through remanufacturing, refurbishment, and high-value recycling to preserve embedded energy, critical materials, and essential resources.
Led by an interdisciplinary team, the RVRC aims to deliver research-driven solutions to accelerate circular economy adoption across high-integrity transport, energy, and industrial sectors.
We're strengthening material resilience, reducing dependence on global supply chains, and developing the skills base needed for sustainable, circular industrial growth.
Our centre is embedding circular design principles and developing new business models to maximise reuse, remanufacturing, and economic value in high-integrity infrastructure.
